LFS 350 and FNH 473 Partners and Teaching Teams

Meet all of the incredible LFS 350 and FNH 473 partners and teaching teams!

This term we have 30 partner teams across BC, engaging in 40 unique community projects, with 200+ students located across Canada and Asia.     These students are supported by 8 incredible TAs, 2 incredible instructors (Dr. Gail Hammond and Dr. Jennifer Grenz) and the LFS Community Relations Coordinator (Pam Garcia -this year, Stephanie Lim -on leave).

The Community Relations Coordinator supports faculty, students and community organizations to do community engaged learning, by developing resources, providing guidance and finding opportunities to deepen and strengthen community relationships, while applying disciplinary knowledge and integrating community expertise.  Should these ideals be of interest to you, or if you have ideas for community engaged learning opportunities, please get in touch with Pam at  pam.garcia@ubc.ca.

Our projects this term are incredibly diverse, ranging from seed variety trialing to support food security in Northern BC, to working to forefront Indigenous worldviews in food security evaluation, to helping elementary school students learn to love peas! Together, our community partners represent a dynamic segment of food leaders in BC and it is truly our honour to learn with them this term.
