Call for Participants: SARS-CoV-2 Study for Eased Restriction in British Columbia Study

A COVID-19 epidemiological study, led by Dr Simon Pimstone from the Department of Medicine, UBC, is recruiting participants from life-sciences focused departments, institutes and centres at UBC.

The purpose of the SAfER BC study is to provide data to assist in planning for the relaxation of restrictions in businesses and institutions in British Columbia while at the same time, providing a dataset that may also help in optimizing contact tracing strategies in the community.

In order to be eligible to participate, you must be currently working at least 1 day per week on average at your institution’s physical location. The time commitment is 12 months from the date of the first visit. The number of procedures and questionnaires required for the study will depend on your SARS-CoV-2 exposure. As part of the study, you will be asked to provide a blood sample to determine your SARS-CoV-2 immune status.

All study related activities are conducted either virtually (consent and questionnaires) or off-site (serology testing at Life Labs), and so should have no impact to the COVID-19 safety plan at your location.

If you are interested in learning more about the study, please email safer.bc@ubc.ca
