Media Relations

The central UBC Media Relations team provides oversight and management of the university’s external reputation. If you are ever approached by a broadcast news outlet, or want to tell a story outside of UBC, the first step is to contact your faculty communicator Karen Lee (karen.lee98@ubc.ca) and central Media Relations. Amp Up Your Media Impact

This special presentation held in 2020 was hosted jointly by the Faculty of Forestry, Faculty of Land and Food Systems and UBC Media Relations. Participants were invited to learn how carefully crafted media outreach can make an impact beyond the headlines.

Speakers included Niki Reitmayer, a producer with CKNW, Prof. Orlando Rojas, and Prof. Jennifer Black among others. They each talked about what a successfully shared story about research results and innovation can look like and how that can ultimately benefit your research and reputation.
