2020 UBC United Way Campaign – Update

This year has been a challenging year for everyone.  Many organizations are struggling so it’s always amazing to hear that the UBC United Way Campaign has achieved a remarkable result so far with 964 donors from our very own UBC Community. We are so close to our goal of 1000 donors. This is up from the total number of 909 donors from last year’s campaign.  If you haven’t already done so, please donate to the 2020 UBC United Way Campaign by December 31, 2020.

Holiday Reminders from the LFS Research Resumption Planning Committee

Dear LFS students, staff and faculty,

As the winter break draws closer, we would like to wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year 2021! We hope you can enjoy a much-needed break from work and all the zoom meetings while observing the provincial health orders

For those that decide to continue working in LFS buildings during the winter break, please note that weekend and statuary holiday access requires special approval by lfs-restart@lists.ubc.ca. LFS offices will be closed during the winter break so we recommend you to review the UBC work alone policy and ensure that a proper procedure is set up in case of emergency.

The faculty will recommend that you refrain from non essential travel during the winter break. If you must travel, we strongly recommend you to work from home for 2 weeks prior to accessing any LFS buildings as a safety precaution.

If you would like updates on UBC’s covid response, please find them here. If you are looking for specific information in our faculty, you can find them here

Happy Holidays! – LFS Research Resumption Planning Committee

From January 11 – 15, the CTLT Teaching Assistant (TA) Institute includes a collection of workshops designed to support TAs as their roles change along with the move to online courses. The week of professional development workshops are open to graduate students and undergraduate TAs. This year, workshops are organized into 6 themes, and if you complete 4 workshops within a theme, and complete the related pre & post-session online modules, you are eligible for a letter of completion that you can include in your Teaching Portfolio and CV.
