REMINDER – Final Grade Submission Deadlines

As the final exam season is upon us, this is a reminder to all instructors to adhere to the grade submission deadlines for term 1 courses; as per the FSC User Guide, page 15, grades are due 7 business days after the exam date, unless the exam occurs within last 2 days of the exam period – then, the grades are due within 5 calendar days.

Meeting these deadlines is critical for students to make informed decisions about term two registration, student loan and scholarship eligibility, etc. Change of Grade forms for when grades need to be changed can be generated via the FSC.

If emailing Student Services with a request to update or post a grade, please include the following details:

  • Student name
  • Student number
  • Course name & number
  • Session when the course was completed
  • Previous grade (if applicable)
  • New grade

Please do not hesitate to contact Student Services (lfs.advising@ubc.ca) with any questions.

Random Acts of Recognition

Congratulations to Random Acts of Recognition recipient:

Kara Vogt for leading the Dietetics team through curriculum changes in the undergraduate program with incredible organization. She has diligently planned curriculum retreats for critical discussion and decision making, led multiple stakeholder engagement sessions with various partners and student groups, and did it all with tact and grace. We appreciate your hard work and leadership, Kara!

To nominate a faculty member, staff or graduate student that’s been doing an outstanding job or has gone above and beyond in some way, send an email to lfs.recognition@ubc.ca and tell us why this person should be recognized. We’ll send them a $6 Starbucks gift card and acknowledge their good work in LFS Today.
