2021/22 Year End Deadlines and Procedures

The University’s fiscal year-end of March 31, 2022 is fast approaching. We ask your assistances to allow sufficient time for online steps to initiate, review and approve the transactions before the deadline for transactions to be included in this year’s financial results.

Supplier Accounts & Procurements:

Invoices must be approved by March 25, 2021 at 3:00PM in order to be included in March. It’s strongly recommended to submit invoices or ask suppliers to submit invoices as soon as possible to allow sufficient time for processing before the cutoff.

Expense Reports & VISA Reconciliations:

Expense reports, including VISA reconciliation must be approved by March 25, 2022 at 3:00PM in order to be included in March. If you have delegation assigned to finance team, please submit backup documents for expense report or VISA card purchases to the Finance Office by 4:30 pm on Friday, March 18th, 2022 to allow sufficient time for processing steps to take place.

2021 Tax Slips Now Available

UBC issues online tax slips as PDFs that faculty, staff and student employees can download through Workday. They are identical to the printed format and are accepted by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) when filing your taxes.

T4 tax slips (and T4As, where applicable) for the 2021 tax year are now available through Workday.  How do I find my T4? (CWL-login required).

An FAQ has been created to answer any questions you may have about T4/T4A tax slips, available on the UBC Finance website.

Jennifer Grenz was featured on CBC Radio’s Quirks & Quarks program about feeding the future: “When settlers arrived on our shores, you know, it looked like this great wilderness. But what they didn’t recognize is that they were looking at incredibly sophisticated food systems. These systems have been shaped since time immemorial to provide food, to provide medicines, to provide technology.” CBC

Mar. 20 – Job Posting: CSFS Lead Sales Coordinator Position

Embodying UBC s aspiration to be a living laboratory, The Centre for Sustainable Food Systems (CSFS) at UBC Farm provides experiential learning opportunities for students and is a base for both research and community projects. CSFS operates on a cost-recovery basis and farm product sales are a significant source of operating revenue. Working under the supervision of the Farm Manager, the Lead Sales Coordinator coordinates the processing ( harvest, washing and packing), inventory, and sale of agricultural products grown and is involved with day-to-day harvest and processing operations, development of the annual farm reports and the support of the maintenance of this revenue source through a mix of direct-sales strategies. These sales activities and associated record keeping intrinsically form a part of the academic programming at the CSFS and substantially inform production decisions. Sales and harvest data collected and organized by the Lead Sales Coordinator provide the raw material that allows development of an academically diverse range of studies conducted by faculty, staff and students, research projects and agricultural production at the Farm.

The closing date for this job posting (https://ubc.wd10.myworkdayjobs.com/ubcstaffjobs/job/UBC-Vancouver-Campus/Lead-Sales-Coordinator_JR6341-1) is 11:59pm on Sunday, March 20. We encourage all qualified candidates to apply.
