Random Acts of Recognition

Big thanks to Cyprien Lomas and Will Valley for stepping up to lead this year’s LFS Teaching Colloquy. Decolonizing is a challenging topic, and they developed a thoughtful approach to bring the LFS community together and get the conversation started.

Tech Tip Tuesday: Creating Inbox Rules on Outlook Web App

Inbox rules can used to automatically perform specific actions on emails that arrive in your inbox. Examples include automatically moving them to other folders, changing the importance of messages or deleting them based on certain criteria. Inbox rules can be helpful when you wish to direct emails from your students regarding a course to a different folder as well as for managing incoming emails from an RSS feed or ticketing systems.

To have these rules in effect on all your devices used to read your email, create them at www.mail.ubc.ca. Click on the Settings button (gear icon on top right). Select ‘Options’ > ‘Inbox and sweep rules’ and create a new rule based on your criteria.
