Wellness Wednesdays: Self and Community Care Workshop

Building Skills to Manage Stress
We don’t always take the time to care for and nurture ourselves and we sometimes require support in integrating relaxation and our personal needs into daily life. This 2-part facilitated webinar focuses on increasing mental health literacy for individuals.

Date: Part 1: Wed. July 6, Part 2: Wed. July 13, 2022 (Please attend both sessions)

Time: 10:30 AM- 11:20 AM

What will you learn?
Participants will learn about the body’s stress response and how to identify these responses in themselves. They will have an opportunity to take a stress index, explore what self and community care means to them and identify key UBC resources that can be engaged to support work life integration and positive mental health.

Your facilitator
Erica Altomare (BEd, MEd) is a Workplace Wellbeing Learning Specialist with UBC HR.

There is a significant ice build-up in the freezer compartment of the fridge that causes the fridge to keep popping open. Therefore, we are organizing a fridge defrost on Wednesday, June 29. Please ensure you remove your food items by 1pm. Any unclaimed items will be trashed.

The fridge will be back in service at noon on Monday, July 4th. During the defrost, if you require the use of cold storage, please use the lunch room in 370B. Thank you for your cooperation.

July 28 – Indigenous Strategic Initiatives (ISI): Special Fund for Graduate Research

This one-time-only Special Fund is for graduate-level students to fund research that advances any of the Indigenous Strategic Plan’s (ISP) 43 actions.

  • Research projects can run for up to 18 months
  • Principal Applicants must have at least one full-time faculty Co-Applicant tied to the ISI Fund research project.
