Last day to share your feedback in the Remote Work Survey

All faculty and staff across UBC are invited to share their feedback in the Remote Work Survey. Whether you work remotely/hybrid or on-site, the survey is an opportunity for all faculty and staff – including leaders – to share their experiences.

You can access the survey here: https://hr.ubc.ca/workplace-surveys

The survey will take 5-10 minutes to complete and responses will be confidential.

Your feedback in this survey will help the university consider how future work arrangements will continue to make UBC an inspiring place for students to learn, for faculty and staff to research, teach and work, and for leaders to understand how to support their teams.

The survey closes end of day on Tuesday, May 10.

Tech Tip Tuesday: Disposing of Computers and Mobiles Devices

Are you disposing of an old computer, phone, or tablet device? It is a best practice to remove any hard drives from computers and resetting mobile devices to the factory default. This will prevent accidental loss of potentially private information.

Drop off computers and devices purchased with UBC funds at the LFS Learning Centre, staff will perform the necessary remediation for you as well as updating the inventory records. For more information, contact the LFS Learning Centre at it@landfood.ubc.ca.

Join the conversation about the respectful and equity-oriented collection and use of disaggregated data

UBC Health and its partners are committed to being part of ongoing conversations about the collection and use of disaggregated data. A series of disaggregated data dialogue sessions hosted by UBC Health resulted in participants recognizing the need for principles and guidelines for the collection and use of disaggregated data. To start this process, UBC Health is working with the research community to identify and synthesize resources that can support researchers in applying respectful and equity-addressing principles in the collection and use of disaggregated data.

Researchers are invited to use an online interactive tool to share resources that guide their work. This may include principles, guidance, reports, papers, authors, individuals, UBC units, and/or organizations.

After gathering the information, UBC Health will highlight results at future sessions of its Disaggregated Data Dialogue Series, with the intent of creating a set of evolving best practices for disaggregated data.

For more information about this initiative, visit the UBC Health website at https://health.ubc.ca/news-events/stories/disaggregateddataresources, or access the online tool now at https://padlet.com/UBC_Health/disaggregateddata.

The deadline to provide resources and input is June 30, 2022.
