Congratulations Gail Hammond!

Congratulations to Gail Hammond who has been promoted to the rank of Associate Professor of Teaching, with tenure, effective July 1, 2021.

New Hire within the LFS Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies Program

We are happy to announce that Iris Li will be joining us as our new Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies Program Assistant! She will be working closely with Shelley, Lia and Sean to deliver exceptional support and service to 12 research-based, 3 professional and 1 graduate certificate programs. Iris is no stranger to working with students as her previous position was an administrative assistant for Elite Educational Institute. Iris holds a BA with a major in Economics and extended minor in Linguistics from SFU. We are excited to have her join the Faculty! Iris’ first day will be Monday, May 17th so please feel free to virtually introduce yourself!

Tebogo Leepile Wins People’s Choice Award in 3MT!

Congratulations to Tebogo Leepile on winning the People’s Choice Award in yesterday’s Western Regional round of the Three Minute Thesis competition! Thank you to the many students, faculty and staff who came out to support and vote for her. Tebogo is a PhD candidate in the Integrated Studies in Land and Food Systems program (supervisors: Dr Eduardo Jovel & Dr Crystal Karakochuk).

Tebogo also received media coverage in Mmegi online on May 12 regarding the 3MT competition.
