Random Acts of Recognition

A huge thank you to Christine Klaray, Director of Student Services, who once again completed graduation approvals and adjudication for every graduating undergraduate student in LFS! Christine tracked down missing grades and completed graduation approvals for 261 graduating students on an extremely tight timeline, all the while leading and providing support for her team through an administratively challenging time of year. Thank you, Christine, for everything you do to support LFS students and the LFS Student Services team!

To nominate a faculty member, staff or graduate student that’s been doing an outstanding job or has gone above and beyond in some way, send an email to lfs.recognition@ubc.ca and tell us why this person should be recognized. We’ll send them a $6 Starbucks gift card and acknowledge their good work in LFS Today.

Tech Tip Tuesday: Fact-check Your Emails For Phishing

Did you receive an email or text message informing you of a windfall or other fabulous news? If you are a subscriber to that service or provider, simply go to the official website, login and check your account. If it is legitimate, the refunds and such will be listed.

If you are not a subscriber or your account does not show the windfall, the message that you have received is definitely fake and you should not be clicking on any of the links. Do not engage by responding to the email or text message. Always contact your provider using their published official contact as listed on their website.
