2022 Summer Term 1 and 2 Final Exam Requests

Are you teaching a course in Term 1 or Term 2 of the Summer 2022 Session?

If so, please complete our Examination Request Survey to indicate whether or not an exam will be required for your course(s) no later than 12:00pm on Friday, May 13. It is important that your requests are received by this deadline to ensure your exam(s) are scheduled by UBC Scheduling Services. Please take some time to familiarize yourself with the exam scheduling process and resources found online, (particularly the ‘resources’ link). If you have any questions or feedback, please contact Melody Wang at lfs.scheduling@ubc.ca.

2022 Winter Course Schedule is up!

The 2022 Winter (September 2022 – April 2023) Course Schedule has been released online. To view, please make sure you select “2022 Winter” from the pull-down menu in the top right-hand corner.

If you are an instructor who submitted a course for inclusion in the 2022 Winter schedule, please check your course(s) now to ensure all details are correct (day/time/term/mode of delivery, etc.).

If you notice errors, please email lfs.scheduling@ubc.ca asap so they can be corrected in a timely manner by their assigned TReps (Timetabling Reps). It is critical that the schedule be corrected right away as students are making plans based on what is published, so your cooperation and quick attention is much appreciated.

Registration for Winter Session will open in June, the details of which can be found online here.

Additional WLIURAs available

We have received a cancellation and have two additional awards available for the Work Learn International Undergraduate Research Awards program to re-allocate in LFS. If any faculty members are interested in hiring international students to work on their research projects during the summer, please contact LFS Undergraduate Student Research Awards lfs.nserc-usra@ubc.ca as soon as possible and we’ll advise on the next steps.

Share your feedback in the Remote Work Survey

All faculty and staff across UBC are invited to share their feedback in the Remote Work Survey. Whether you work remotely/hybrid or on-site, the survey is an opportunity for all faculty and staff – including leaders – to share their experiences.

You can access the survey here: https://hr.ubc.ca/workplace-surveys

The survey will take 5-10 minutes to complete and responses will be confidential.

Your feedback in this survey will help the university consider how future work arrangements will continue to make UBC an inspiring place for students to learn, for faculty and staff to research, teach and work, and for leaders to understand how to support their teams.

The survey closes end of day on Monday, May 10.
