Lunch and Learn Office Hours: Zooming Out – Planning a Virtual Fieldtrip with Duncan McHugh

Friday, October 16th, 2020 at noon.

How do you plan a field trip around the pandemic restrictions? Take it virtual!

In this session, we will look into planning a virtual field trip and how you can use technology to bring the experience of field trips to your students virtually. We will explore planning an outdoor recording session and what can and cannot be realistically done. Duncan McHugh will discuss his experience of shooting a virtual field trip at the Grouse Mountain for APBI 416 and best practices that should follow. We will also discuss some alternatives if recording a field trip isn’t feasible.

Come join us for this session with your experiences, stories and questions, and discuss ways in which outdoor learning activities can be brought to the virtual platform.
