LFS in the News

Dr. Anthony (Tony) Yurkovich, an Agriculture alumni, and his wife Nancy, a registered nurse, were featured in a new article about their contributions over the years. These contributions include donations to the upgrade of Agora Café, a student-led business in the MacMillan building, the UBC Farm building, and the Department of Family Practice to advance relationship-based health care.

LFS Community Dinner: To Gather At Last

The annual LFS Community Dinner will be taking place on Sunday, November 21, 2021 from 5:00-8:30pm at the Great Hall of the AMS Nest. 

The LFS Community Dinner team recognizes that some students may not be able to afford the ticket pricing. In order to make this event open and accessible to all, we are looking for LFS faculty and staff who wish to support students who would otherwise be unable to attend the event.

CIFST ALT*: A Virtual Showcase – Oct. 27

CIFST ALT is a brand-new virtual event that will focus on alternative food products, alternative technologies and innovative alternatives to how the food industry produces and distributes products to end users.

Participants will be encouraged to explore the emerging technologies, practices and approaches in the Alt space.
