Special Presentation: Amp Up Your Media Impact, Nov. 12

All faculty members are invited to a Media Relations special presentation to learn how carefully crafted media outreach can make an impact beyond the headlines.

Speakers include the producer of CKNW’s most listened-to daytime radio talk show as well as esteemed faculty members. This session is hosted jointly by the Faculty of Forestry, Faculty of Land and Food Systems, and UBC Media Relations.

You will hear from Simi Sara’s talk show producer and reporter Niki Reitmayer, Prof. Orlando Rojas, and Prof. Jennifer Black among others. Let us take you through this journey of what a successfully shared story about research results and innovation can look like and how that can ultimately benefit your research and reputation.

Agora Café Crowdfundraiser for COVID-19 Upgrades

Before Agora Café can reopen in the Fall of 2021, there are changes that will need to happen to the café both in the building and behind the scenes. They are working in coordination with UBC Faculty Operations to ensure Agora is up to standards set out by UBC and the province of BC.

This crowdfunding campaign is to raise enough money for the estimated costs of installing plexiglass and investing in PPE and proper sanitization methods. Having lost our main source of income, Agora is facing major financial difficulties right now, and does not have the means to implement our safety strategy. We are asking for your help with our goal of keeping Agora staff and customers safe and preventing the spread of COVID-19.

Visit the campaign page to make a donation, and consider sharing with your networks.
