Random Acts of Recognition

Congratulations to Random Acts of Recognition recipients:

  • Sahil Sahibole for his constant support and enthusiasm around tech support. He’s been very helpful as we try and learn more about the various filming and printing equipment in the learning centre.
  • The LFS DAE team would like to recognize Alberto Baldelli and Xanyarfor Mohammadi for their help in creating innovative tokens of appreciation made by plasma treating UBC Farm blueberries for the recent UBC Farm long table dinners for our donors and alumni.
  • Patrick Pow, Chelsea Gowton, and Fernanda Diaz for going above and beyond taking time out of their weekend to help organize, set up, and provide excellent outreach learning opportunities for the public at the LFS booth at the Day at the Farm event last weekend. Without their expertise in soils, plants, and insects, we would not have had a such successful set of activities for the public to enjoy.

To nominate a faculty member, staff or graduate student that’s been doing an outstanding job or has gone above and beyond in some way, send an email to lfs.recognition@ubc.ca and tell us why this person should be recognized. We’ll send them a $6 Starbucks gift card and acknowledge their good work in LFS Today

Change in the Finance Office

It is mixed emotion that we announce that Jessie Wu will be leaving us as she has accepted a position over in SFU. Although her time with us was short, we would like to take this opportunity to thank her for her contribution to the Faculty and the Finance team. Her last day with us will be September 23rd. She will be missed!
