LFS in the News

Alexandra Protopopova was featured in a Q&A about how to ease the transition back to the office for your pets. On the concerns that pet owners might have about returning to the office, Alexandra shared: “The main concern is how your animal will be able to cope. Many of us stayed at home for so long and have constantly been in very close proximity to our companion animals – and they have also adjusted to this. For some who got pandemic puppies, this continuous proximity might be all that they know.” UBC News

Tech Tip Tuesday

Backing Up Zoom Cloud Recordings
If you want to re-use Zoom cloud recordings in another term, it’s a good idea to download them to ensure you have a copy for future use. A retention policy for Zoom recording storage is being developed and reviewed by UBC. For now, the recordings will remain on the Zoom cloud for at least one year.

To ensure you can share your past Zoom cloud recordings, download the videos and upload them to Kaltura (https://www.learning.video.ubc.ca). Kaltura doesn’t have storage limits, so you’ll be able to share videos to your Canvas course, or elsewhere, at a later date.
