LFS Internal TLEF/OER Reviewers Needed

LFS Internal Reviewers are needed to review small TLEF and OER proposals and offer feedback to applicants. It will take about 6 to 8 hours of your time.

  • November 4 to 10, review 3 to 5 draft proposals and meet once with rest of the committee to offer feedback to applicants.
  • November 21 to 24, review submitted proposals again and be ready to rank them at a meeting.

In return, you will get a chance to see what innovative teaching practices are being proposed in the Faculty. Faculty, staff and grad students are all welcome. No previous TLEF/OER experience is needed; current applicants are also welcome!

Today – Lunch and Learn Series: Drop-in Session on Canvas

The LFS Learning Centre will be hosting a drop-in session TODAY, September 23, 2022 at noon. The Learning Centre team will focus this session on answering instructors’ questions on Canvas, with a focus on Canvas rubrics, assignments, and quizzes.

Sept. 24 – LFS Open House at UBC Homecoming

We invite you to the Faculty of Land and Food Systems Open House hosted by Dean Rickey Yada at the H.R. MacMillan Building from 1:30 – 3:30pm. You will have an exclusive opportunity to enjoy class reunions and displays of research stories, archival photographs and memorabilia. Families are welcome to come along and enjoy the carnival games, arts and crafts, and a DIY photobooth.

Deadlines

Nov. 3 – Small Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund (TLEF) Innovation projects

Small TLEF Innovation projects support grassroots experimentation with pedagogical approaches to enhance learning. UBC Vancouver faculty, staff and students can apply for grants up to $50,000. The deadline is 3pm on November 17, 2022.

Nov. 3 – Open Educational Resources (OER) Innovation Grants

The OER Rapid Innovation Grants provide funding for a wide range of activities and events that seek to engage the UBC community in increasing awareness and capacity for supporting and sustaining the adoption, adaption, and creation of OER at UBC V.
