Preparation for Workday Go-Live – Request for Action
PAT Transition to Workday
One of the features of Workday is its ability to track vacation and other leaves. In November we will transition to using Workday across the University and retiring other absence tracking applications. For Workday to reflect accurate information at go-live, it will be crucial for anyone with responsibility for tracking and maintaining absences to ensure that all vacation, medical leave or any other paid leave entitlement is accurately recorded and tracked prior to the implementation of Workday.  We ask that all monthly paid staff go in to PAT (https://pat.ubc.ca/LFS/) to ensure their vacation and leave information is correct.  If there are any outstanding unapproved requests, please follow up with your supervisor to ensure the leaves are approved by September 23, 2020, 11:59 PM.  Balances will include vacation taken through to and including November 15.  PAT will remain open through to Go-Live for use, however no further entries beyond September 23 will be converted into Workday.  Staff will need to input these updates directly into Workday.  Should you have any questions, please contact Mona Lee at mona.lee@ubc.ca.

Employee Self-Service Information
In addition to the above, we ask that all student workers, staff and faculty go into the self-service portal (www.msp.ubc.ca) and submit any changes to address, phone number and emergency contact by the same deadline of September 23, 2020, 11:59 PM to ensure accurate information is transferred to Workday.  Any changes after the deadline should be held until go-live and can be updated by employees in Workday on November 2, 2020.

LFS Graduate Student Council – September Meeting
This academic year is definitely different but there is a whole department of LFS graduate students who are also trying to work through their degrees during a global pandemic. The LFS Graduate Student Council still has the goal of creating a community amongst its graduate students whether they’re based in Vancouver, other areas of Canada, or elsewhere in the world. We encourage all to join us for our first council meeting of the academic year. We will be meeting virtually. Please email lfsgrads@gmail.com for any items you wish to add to the September Meeting Agenda. Please register for the meeting HERE, once registered you’ll be sent the direct link for the zoom meeting.
