Computing Resource Allocations at UBC From https://arc.ubc.ca/ubc-arc-sockeye. UBC Advanced Research Computing (ARC) is taking applications for priority allocation of compute and storage resources for research from September 28 – October 16, 2020. Priority Allocations provides access to reserved CPU and GPU resources, and up to 50 TB of storage and up to 50 TB of scratch. Applications for Priority Allocations will happen twice per year and will be reviewed by Faculty members from the DRI Resources Allocation Committee. Priority is given to Faculty members who are: New to UBC (within five or fewer years) Early-career researchers Have research data that has to be hosted on-site or cannot be accommodated by any other existing computational resources (e.g. Compute Canada) Researchers who have current allocations will not be impacted by the changes in resource allocation. Faculty members can ask for a Standard Allocation at any time. The Standard Allocation provides shared access to all available GPU and CPU and includes up to 5 TB of project space for immediate computing.
